Important Update: Migration Queensland's 2023-24 Skilled Migration Program is Now Open - Check Your Eligibility
Immigration News
Migration Queensland has some important news to share about its skilled migration program, which opens on September 6, 2023. This program is for skilled workers who want to live in Queensland, Australia. But there are some changes you need to know about.
Limited Allocations Require Strategic Planning
As we kick off the new financial year, it's crucial to be aware that Migration Queensland has received a reduced allocation from the Department of Home Affairs. This year have been allocated 1550 skilled nominations and no BIIP (Business Innovation and Investment Program) allocation. Consequently, the state's nominated program will be highly competitive.
Invitation Rounds and Monthly Caps
To ensure a fair and consistent rate of invitation throughout the 2023-24 program year, Migration Queensland will conduct invitation rounds at the end of each month, starting from the end of September 2023. The number of applicants invited each month will be capped. This competitive process means that exploring alternative migration options is advisable for those who may not receive an invitation.
Eligibility Criteria and EOIs
Before applying for Queensland nomination, it's essential to review both the Department of Home Affairs and Migration Queensland criteria to confirm your eligibility. If you are not sure that you are eligible to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI), we strongly encourage you to contact our NB Migration Law expert team, and we will assist you in determining your eligibility.
If you meet all eligibility criteria and wish to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI), please note that you must submit a brand new EOI in SkillSelect. Migration Queensland will only consider EOI lodged on or after September 6, 2023. Updated EOIs will not be considered.
